Big Dog Squad Community Terms & Conditions

1. About Big Dog Squad

Big Dog Squad ("BDS") is a social community for owners and enthusiasts of large breed dogs to meet, socialise, attend walks, and participate in community events.

Big Dog Squad is not a dog training service, dog walking service, pet care provider, or professional organisation.

Participation in any activity is entirely voluntary.

2. Participation at Your Own Risk

By joining Big Dog Squad and attending any event, walk, meetup, or activity, you acknowledge and agree that participation is entirely at your own risk.

Members are responsible for their own safety, the safety of their dog(s), and the actions of any guests they bring.

3. Owner Responsibility

Owners remain fully responsible for their dog at all times.

Members agree to:

  • Keep their dog under appropriate control.

  • Use leads where requested by organisers or where legally required.

  • Clean up after their dog.

  • Ensure their dog is fit and healthy to attend.

  • Ensure vaccinations, preventative healthcare, and identification requirements are maintained in accordance with applicable laws.

  • Respect the space and safety of other dogs and people.

4. Dog Behaviour

To help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment:

  • Dogs with a known history of serious aggression towards people must not attend events.

  • Owners must disclose any behavioural concerns that may affect the safety of others.

  • Reactive or nervous dogs may attend where appropriate, but owners remain responsible for managing their dog's behaviour.

  • Organisers reserve the right to ask a member and/or dog to leave an event if safety concerns arise.

5. Guests, Family and Children

Where guests are permitted:

  • Members remain responsible for their guests at all times.

  • Parents or guardians remain responsible for supervising children.

  • Event-specific restrictions may apply and will be communicated in event details.

6. Media and Photography

Photos and videos may be taken during events for use on:

  • Social media platforms

  • Community websites

  • Promotional materials relating to Big Dog Squad

Media will only be used in accordance with the preferences provided through the member consent process.

Members may update or withdraw their media consent at any time by contacting the organisers.

7. Event Bookings and Deposits

Certain events may require advance bookings or deposits.

Where deposits are required:

  • Details will be communicated before booking.

  • Refund availability will depend on the venue's policies and booking arrangements.

  • Members are responsible for informing organisers if they can no longer attend.

8. Changes, Cancellations and Weather

Big Dog Squad reserves the right to:

  • Change event locations.

  • Change event times.

  • Cancel or postpone events.

  • Limit attendance numbers.

This may occur due to weather conditions, venue requirements, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.

9. Liability Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Big Dog Squad, its organisers, volunteers, and representatives accept no liability for:

  • Injury to any person.

  • Injury to any dog.

  • Dog altercations or behavioural incidents.

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

  • Veterinary expenses.

  • Costs arising from participation in community activities.

All members participate entirely at their own risk.

10. Respectful Conduct

Members agree to:

  • Treat others respectfully.

  • Avoid harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive behaviour.

  • Follow event instructions where provided.

  • Help maintain a positive and welcoming community environment.

Organisers reserve the right to remove any member whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the community.

11. WhatsApp Community Rules

By joining the Big Dog Squad WhatsApp Community, members agree to:

  • Keep discussions respectful.

  • Avoid spam, advertising, or unauthorised promotion.

  • Respect other members' privacy.

  • Follow community guidelines communicated by organisers.

Failure to comply may result in removal from the community.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a membership form, joining the WhatsApp Community, or attending a Big Dog Squad event, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.

  • You agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

  • You accept responsibility for yourself, your dog(s), and any guests attending with you.
